One of the best drama ever! I've never enjoyed a series more ^_^ Kanno Miho did a splendid job in her role and the story was just very entertaining. Every episode has a word defined and lesson on it, and all the actors were just wonderful. The ending theme is hilarious! I love the way they played with the phonetics to get the lyrics ^_^ For instance:
一つ人より働いて <-- "Hito"tsu "Hito" yori hatarite
二つ不満は口にせず <-- "Fu"tatsu "Fu"man ha kuchi ni sezu
三つ未来と <-- "Mi"tsu "Mi"rai to
四つ世のため <-- "Yo"tsu "Yo" no tame
五ついつまでも <-- "Itsu"tsu "Itsu" made mo~
I love it ^_^! The song makes me laugh every time I hear it. I've basically been singing to it everyday where I am ^_^ (Mostly at work though). It's officially become my work song ^_^
Anyway, for those who haven't seen Hataraki Man yet, it's basically about a 28 year-old magazine editor, Matsukata Hiroko, who is very passionate about her work and when she gets into work mode, she works 3x as fast and gets things done like "a man" so she is called "Hataraki Man." In the story, she overcomes various obstacles on the job while trying to be a good girlfriend to 4-year boyfriend, Shinji. However, when it comes down to it, she has to pick what is most important to her: work or love.
The drama is hilarious, it's more about work than about romance, in my opinion. About 80% of the drama is of Hiroko running around with proposals, chasing after interviees, and standing up her boyfriend in order to take on scoops ^_^; Ok... maybe that's not all she's doing, but the stories within each episode are nice to see and personally, I think it's one of the best comedies I've watched in a while.
Another comedy I watched recently is Brother Beat, about a single-mother who raises her three, good-looking sons by herself after her husband's death 15 years ago. Her eldest son is a straight-laced salaryman and the main provider for the family, the second son is a swimming coach, and the third is training to become a nurse at his college. All experience trials with work and love and it's a pretty cute story in my opinion, well worth checking out.
